Magnus Vaena

“I am a Swedish-Brazilian photographer living/working in Stockholm since february 2008. I started to get involved with that in 1997 when I went to Stockholm to study in a photo art school for a period of one year (before that I lived in Rio de Janeiro). After two group exhibitions and back to Brazil in 1998, I continued my track in this are (working as a photojournalist and as a fashion photographer assistant). Later on I started to make editorial assignments for magazines, newspapers and commercial works for others clients. At the same time focusing on my personal projects I did one collective (“Young Artist Rio” RJ, 2001) and two individual exhibitions (“Pippi in Rio” Rio de Janeiro, 2003 and “In the Shadows of the Carnival” Stockholm, 2005).”

“I am a Brazilian-Japanese living in Stockholm/Sweden since Jan/2005. Electrical engineer by the University of São Paulo, MBA from IMD/Switerland and a former executive at Ericsson AB, I have decided to provoke a shift in my life about 2 years ago and work with projects that I have always dreamed with. Photography is one of them and I am truly excited for being able to make this a reality.
